kingdom-for-a-horse asked: Hello! :) I want to re-henna my hair because my previous (and only) application of henna turned out much darker than my strand test fortold - it's too dark for my tastes. But since it's already henna'd it'll only get darker if I do a full henna again! ): Someone recommended using developer 30 cream, WITHOUT bleach, to lift the henna off. Do you have any ideas? Much appreciated! <3

First I would suggest using a crystal clarifying treatment (you can get it at sally’s beauty) to remove all of the minerals in your hair that build up from possible hard water, then rinsing with distilled water. This could be the culprit causing your hair to be too dark, as it is for a lot of people with hard water.  If its still too dark, then the developer will lighten your hair. If you want a less damaging option, try honey lightening, but just know its a more gradual process. Here is a comprehensive explanation: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showpost.php?p=134083&postcount=1096

imaninnocentbystander asked: I have black hair and I recently used henna as an attempt to dye my hair red. I didn't have high expectations, but the red didn't show up in my hair in the least. Any suggestions for a stronger result?

You would have to lighten your hair by bleaching it first and then apply henna to get the red to really show up. You could probably bleach it now even. The lighter the starting color, the brighter the red. If you just want more of a red glow, I suggest multiple henna applications. Look for a high dye content in the henna you’re buying. Hope this helps!
